A fun warm-up exercise: paint blot doodles. Start with a sheet of heavy (watercolor) paper. Quickly throw down some roundish paint blobs. Add some feet and ears or other random lumps. Let it dry and then turn those blobs into something else.
I used watercolor pencils this time for my transformations. I ended up with a few more fish and a few less bunnies than I had expected when creating the blobs. Sadly, not one wombat showed up. I might need to do this again and try harder.
